Barbara Pressword photo.Barbara is a Licensed Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of hands-on experience working with older adults in skilled nursing and long-term acute care. Barbara broadened her occupational therapist perspective by becoming a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS.) This knowledge increased her ability to support the goals of older adults wanting to stay in their home as long as possible. She has always gravitated towards working with older adults and honed that passion with the ability to provide realistic solutions that make a meaningful difference. Barbara excels in listening and taking time to fully understand the needs of her clients and their families.

Raised in Maine, Barbara has been a resident of Houston since 1990. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, with a double major in Psychology and Kinesiology from Houston Baptist University. She then pursued a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University. She is certified through the American Heart Association in Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Barbara brings to Elder Advisory Group depth in training and experience in occupational therapy with broad application for enhancing the older adult’s personal success and quality of life. Her complimentary skills to the EAG care management team enhances the aging goals of independence and well-being for clients.
